Job Ref. :eng15271 Sales Engineer (office Based)   Job Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire   Qualifications: Relevant HNC+   Terms: Permanent only   Salary: Remuneration £18,000 - £25,000pa Job Details Duties Reporting to the Sales Director the Sales Engineer will play a key role in the Office Sales Team, striving to continuously improve sales of the Guttridge range of bulk handling products. He or she will work in a modern air-conditioned office at our factory in Spalding and will: Prepare sales proposals from enquiries received, progressing them through to sale status and assisting with final issue of manufacturing instructions. Liaise with potential customers and with the company“s Technical Design and Manufacturing Depts to ensure that the customers“ needs are properly assessed and quoted accordingly. Follow up quotations, working closely with the Field Sales Engineers to enhance sales prospects. Visit customers from time to time to support field sales activities where neccessary. Prospect for new customers and help to formulate strategies for increasing sales. Actively seek market intelligence on the state of the market, prospects, opportunities and competition. Skills and attributes sought Articulate, literate, resourceful, personable technical sales engineer able to work efficiently and to deadlines driven by customer needs. A technical understanding of materials handling machinery, together with a knowledge of powder handling/bulk materials handling in a cross-section of industries would be an advantage, although not essential. Numeracy, technical capability and computer literacy are essential. As a minimum we expect you to be a confident user of current Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Explorer software. You might be a graduate seeking an engineering opportunity or a more experienced person with a technical background needing more challenge. Holidays - 22 days per year - increasing with service to 25 days per annum Pensions - The company operates a joint contributory pension scheme. Details will be discussed with candidates selected for final interview. Working Arrangements The successful candidate will live within daily commuting distance of Spalding.
