| Elfin Technology Limited, as part of the ACT Group, is a specialist developer and manufacturer of several unique Patented technologies within the heat transfer industry. In order to continue our penetration of several key sectors, including international Motorsport, Aerospace and Building Services, the company is committed to the ongoing developing a range of bespoke manufacturing machinery. This machinery utilises linear motor technology in addition to more common hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Electronics play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and quality that our clients have come to expect. To this end, we require a multi-skilled engineer who can take on such a diverse role, playing a major part in the ongoing development and improvement of new and existing machines alike. Key responsibilities will be to deliver practical engineered solutions for a novel range of special purpose machines. Working as part of the development team, you will manage projects from deriving the initial specification through to final testing, which could either be in-house or at the customers’ site. Candidates should possess skills in the following areas. 1. Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline, 2. 3-5 years experience in working with special purpose machines 3. Design of electrical control and safety systems utilising servo motor technology (ideally Bosch but training can be arranged) 4. Mechanical engineering design of assemblies, fabrications and tooling using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks 5. A good understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems 6. Produce schematic and panel layout drawings 7. Practical experience of machine wiring looms and their installation 8. Computer literate in MS Office 9. Prepared to travel worldwide The right individual should be confident and highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and an ability to work in an ever-changing and evolving environment. We cannot overemphasise the importance of this role within our business as this underlying technology is the key to the organisation’s success. The role is also likely to expand significantly over the coming months as the business grows, not only in the UK but also abroad as we finalise our plans to open new manufacturing plants in the USA.
